It must be a record to have taken 9 months before submitting a second blog post. I suppose that beats 30 years before the first one hit. At this rate, I’m on my way to quite the exponential growth. It looks like I’ll need to invest in a bot to start posting for me to keep this up. Good thing AI copywriting is quickly catching up to its human counterparts. How ironic.
I suppose it’s ironic too that my primary profession is in copywriting. If I’m going to maintain longevity in this field then I may need to devote more time here on substack given how much more uniquely human open blog content is. I’ve written my fair share of less-human content for companies out there.
And now I have three businesses on the go. How the hell did that happen?
It all started when I formed a corporation back in 2016 with the idea of starting an import/export business. I’ve made some contacts while traveling over the years, especially in India, so I thought it would be a good idea.
I was young and didn’t stay very focused on that mission, but I did set things up well enough so that I could pick it up again when conditions became favorable. I’ll come back to that in a bit.
I did a bunch of different things since that time, which eventually led me to develop an interest in investing and crypto, which then married with my existing interest in writing once I made a fortunate connection (cough cough, thanks a ton Keegan Francis and Mrugakshee Palwe). I wrote for them for a good year before I started my own writing operations.
I used the company I had formed before to start reaching out to potential clients under the name CryptoCopy. I was lucky to land a new client right off the bat, which has carried me a long way while I was building a wider client base.
Something wasn’t right though. CryptoCopy was a great name, but I was already tired of writing about crypto stuff. I wanted to focus more on bitcoin. Actually, I didn’t want to write anything anymore at all really, but the bear market of 2022 had hit and I didn’t like my alternatives for making money.
So I doubled down and decided to start a company. After about a month I then rebranded CC to BitCopy, which has been growing fairly well. I still had the CC URL though and realized that I could still make use of it. Therefore, CryptoCopy was reborn!
In the midst of all this, my old buddies in India reached out to tell me they were ready for business. Time to start selling Assamese tea. Alrighty then, three businesses it is.
yada yada I’m busy and now I’m living in France as a quick sortie away from Canada. Inflation sucks and I don’t make all that much money yet but life’s good and I’m plugging away.
It’s been an adventure. I’m 30 years old as of writing.
Fun.
I tried to post this, but then substack told me I should ask people to subscribe. Subscribe. Do it because I’m being told to tell you to do it.
